Field Corners, 2025, Acrylic on Canvas, 18x18 inches

Sale Price: $500.00 Original Price: $700.00

Original painting inspired by the landscape of Callahan State Park, Framingham Massachusetts.

the title, “Field Corners”, refers to the Jewish commandment to leave the corners of your field when your harvest:

from Leviticus 19:9-11: “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap all the way to the corner of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest.  You shall not pick your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger.”

I was reminded of this commandment as I painted this field — a reminder to generously give to those who are in need in a way that allows for privacy and humanity.
