Original painting inspired by time spent painting and living for a week solo in the Fowler Cottage Dune Shack, one of the historic Dune Shacks on the National Seashore of Cape Cod. The shacks are primitive — no electricity or indoor plumbing — and isolated, allowing for uninterrupted solitude and refuge.
Each evening, I climbed one of the dunes to watch the dunes transform at golden hour, wind whipping at upwards of 15-30 MPH around me. In this painting, I wanted to capture the wild rapture of the moment; the color, the chaos, the magic.
